“I felt scared, lost and fearful after my pregnancy loss.

Now I feel calmer, clearer and more united to them and my family.”

Liz, UK

I’m so sorry you’re needing to look at this page. It’s likely you’re here because either you or someone close to you is living with loss, having gone through the traumatic experience of  *pregnancy loss due to miscarriage, stillbirth or neo-natal death. Whatever your individual experience, the baby who died is precious and they will always be precious. As you read this, you will probably be experiencing a whirlwind of intense emotions. You might be finding it really hard to find people to talk to about your baby. Those around you probably don’t know what to do or say. They may avoid the conversation all together or even avoid you. I know that hurts.

“People wouldn’t ask me about my baby who died as if they were scared it would remind me all over again. But I never stop thinking about my baby and I really wanted to talk about them. Avoiding the conversation all together felt like my baby had never existed at all.”

  • Please have a look at this best care practice document which provides guidance on how to care for someone close to you who has lost a baby
  • To those who are going through such an awful time, I hear you. Your baby matters.

*The term ”Pregnancy Loss”  The terms our culture uses around these deeply sensitive experiences – including infant loss – really saddens me. Sometimes they seem to imply fault in the way the baby was carried and this just isn’t the case. As one mum I supported puts it: “I am so sick of those who call it miscarriage or infant loss. I didn’t drop or lose my baby. I didn’t misplace them. My baby died.” Jane, UK
